Nine of us walked along the Tire Mountain trail on this perfectly sunlit day.
Long gone were the terrain’s renown wild flowers and in their place,
fall’s golden foliage—a lovely contrast against old growth trees,
wild rhodies and lush ferns.
Diamond Peak, Mount Bachelor and Hills Creek Reservoir were in clear view for
all to savor.
After a leisurely lunch, we climbed to the top, where a lookout tower once stood
atop a tree.
