Hand Lake via Scott Lake

Sunday, September 25 was a clear, crisp day for hiking from Scott Lake to Hand Lake and up the eastern side of the lava flow to cross the Old McKenzie Wagon Road. This was the road John Craig carved out in 1871 for a short cut from the Willamette Valley to central Oregon grazing lands. The water levels were very low in Scott and Hand Lakes. Hikers were: Marti Berger (non-member), Barbara Chinn, Linn Crooks (non-member), Marcia Cutler, Pat Esch, Donna Halker (non-member), Sherwood Jefferies, William Maxwell (non-member), Barbara Morgan, Carol Petty, Barb Revere, and Mary Ellen West (leader).
