McKenzie River/Tamolitch Pool

July 31, 2005

Twelve eager hikers left SEHS parking lot at 9a.m. and car pooled to Trail Bridge exit along the McKenzie River. On the hiking trail we passed old growth Douglas fir and cedars. Then through moss covered lava rock to overlook the awesome sight of the turquoise Tamolitch Pool. After some searching we found some rocks to sit on overlooking the pool and ate our lunch. We wanted to be closer to the water but were unable to get there because we didn’t know the way. The weather was wonderful and we seemed to enjoy the scenery and the company. Hikers were Courtney Abbott, Sheila Carter, Jane Dods, Julie Dorland, Holy Higgins, Sherwood Jefferies, Joanne Ledet, Bonnie Richman, Carol Waddell, Martha Welches (leader), and Rod Wood.
