West Eugene WetlandsApril 26, 2005Marian West, Marilyn Kerins and I (Anne Montgomery) met on this cool, cloudy, Tuesday morning for a bicycling and birding trip through the West Eugene Wetlands. Among the birds we saw were long-billed dowitchers, cinnamon teals, green-winged teals, shovelers, meadow larks, killdeer, great egrets, great blue herons, kestrels, turkey vultures, olive-backed goldfinches, Canadian geese, barn swallows, violet-green swallows, Northern flickers, scrub jays, song swallows and the ubiquitous red-winged blackbirds. Thanks to Marian and Marilyn for joining me on one of my favorite combination activities: bicycling and birding! |
