Midnight LakeFebruary 15, 2004Twelve eager skiers left Eugene about 8:45 for Willamette Pass area. We had a perfect ski trip with blue skies, powder snow and a broken trail. After starting at the Gold lake parking lot we went in a clockwise direction via the Pacific Crest trail to Midnight Lake. Our lunch stop was sitting in the sun at the lake. One member had so much energy he skied around the lake after lunch. We returned, through the woods, passing Bechtel Shelter with a nice glide downhill on Pengra Pass Road to the cars. Everyone arrived in Eugene by 3:30. An added bonus was that we didn’t have to put on chains. Today’s trip qualified one skier, Sat Nam Khalsa, to apply for membership. Participants were: Bob Burnett, Chris Christensen, Karen Gates, Bob Huntley, George & Andy Jobanek, Sat Nam Khalsa, Phyllis O’Neill, Carol Petty, Bella Shaver, Jon Tesdell and Sandra Larsen, leader. |
