Maxwell Snow Park/Mt. View ShelterJanuary 10, 2004The sunny weather made for nice views of the mountains in the area. We could see Three Fingered Jack, Washington, the Three Sisters and Diamond Peak. The shelter we walked to was empty for our lunch. This surprised me since it has become very popular in its short existence. The trails are nicely marked with maps at many of the intersections. Both the outhouses at the trailhead and shelter are in good condition. I have seen “ snow fleas” before, but not in the amount we saw this day. There were billions! Participants were: Ann-Marie Askew, Anne Bonine, Barb Bruns, Walt Dolliver, Laurie Funkhouser, Yuan Hopkins, Sheila Ward and J. Scott Hovis, leader. |
