Browder Ridge

July 10, 2004

On a surprisingly overcast July morning, we set out hoping to enjoy the wildflower meadows, great mountain views and vigorous exercise of hiking up the rather steep trail to Browder Ridge. The wildflowers came through for us—we admired dozens of colorful blooms whose forgotten names now haunt us. We also saw most of the Cascade peaks, including the bottom 2/3 of Mount Jefferson, more than half of North and Middle Sister, etc. The clouds that covered the mountain peaks also made for very comfortable hiking, though—so it was a pleasant day for us.

Hikers were George Baitinger, Delora Higbee, David McClurg, Caryn Stoess, Richard Sundt, Nancy Whitfield, Mel Zavodsky and Sue Wolling, leader.
