Clear Lake-Waterfall Loop

Four (undaunted by the weather forecast) hikers left Eugene under cloudy skies and arrived at Sahalie Falls by 10:00. We hiked along the river a short distance to Clear Lake where we circled the lake counter clockwise. Fishermen were in the lake. We saw some trilliums and bear grass in bloom. Our lunch stop was at Great Spring. After circling the lake we crossed the highway back to the river where we crossed the bridge and completed the Waterfall Loop. All day we had constant rain, but were protected most of the trip by all the trees. The four hikers who enjoyed a typical spring day in Oregon were: Robert and Ryan Ponto, Craig Renkert and leader Sandra Larsen.
