McKenzie River Trail

The weather did not look very promising as seven hikers headed towards Paradise Campground; a very light rain was falling. By the time we got to the trailhead, it had stopped. The trail was in excellent condition, neither muddy nor dusty, but we encountered a few fallen logs that were not there last year. We stopped for lunch close to the river below a short stretch of rapids. The sun came out a little later and we decided to take a little side trip to Belknap Hot Springs to look at the beautiful gardens. Hikers were Sharon Duncan, Margot Fetz, Karen and Lucy Rayle, Barbara Schomaker, Michelle Tambellini and Daniele Delaby, leader.
