Alpine Trail

On a perfect high overcast day, 13 Obsidians hiked on the Alpine Trail above Westfir past Buckhead Mountain to Buckhead Shelter. Over 50 species of wildflowers were identified along the way. We could hear but not see several bird species. The leader spotted a racer (she loves snakes.) At one point on the trail was a view of the Three Sisters, Diamond Peak, and High Prairie.

Hikers were Laree Beckley, Max Brown, Rob Castleberry, Daniele Delaby, Yuan Hopkins, Richard Hughes, Lana Lindstrom, Penny McAvoy, Michelle Tambellini, Sam Tracer, Tom Woxell, Barbara Bruns (co-leader), and Sabine Dutoit (leader).
