Lower McKenzie River Trail

Fifteen hikers departed from the Thurston Bus Station to hike the Lower McKenzie River Trail. It was a warm spring day to leisurely enjoy the old growth forest, the wildflowers and the briskly flowing McKenzie River. Downed trees blocking the trail added to our navigation skills. We enjoyed lunch at Lost Creek, our final destination. We could not have asked for more perfect weather.

Hikers were Priscilla Aronin, Anne-Marie Askew, La Ree Beckley, Lois Bjerken (co-leader), Anne Bonine, Wendy Clarke, Sharon Duncan, Gerry Gelbs, Carol Petty, Margaret Prentice (leader), Velma Shirk, Barbara Schomaker, Nola Shurtleff, Michelle Tambellini, and Nancy Whitfield.
