Crater Lake Ski WeekendMarch 28-30, 2003The weather was spectacular — several folk skied or snowshoed in T-shirts and the rest of us stripped down to one layer and wished we had worn T-shirts! There was plenty of snow, a total of 8 ft. On Sunday, a Park Service Ranger led us on a two-mile snow-shoe trip and explained about the creation of the lake (fighting between the gods Llao and Kell), and the flora and fauna. Mike and Jo Turner at Prospect Inn were very gracious and the food they prepared for us was fabulous . . . even with the exercise, I suspect several of us added an extra pound or two! Participants included Steve, Beverly, Madelinn & Amanda Shriver, Ann-Marie Askew, Barbara Bruns, Beth & Ken Kodama, Bob Huntley, Danielle Delaby, Diane & George Jeffcott, Jane Bartell, Jim & Sharon Duncan, John Agnew, Kathy & Stewart Hoeg, Keith Christensen, Leona Devine, Mary Croson, Mel Zavodsky, Michelle Tambellini, Mike Bebout, Paul Zosel, Richard Hughes, Sandra Larsen, Sharon Ritchie, Sylvia Harvey, Yuan Hopkins and trip leader Lana Lindstrom. |
