Maxwell Shelter Snowshoe
March 1, 2003
. . . And the weather gods smiled. Brilliant sunshine, blue skies, and a few
inches of new powder made for what-more-can-you-ask-for snowshoe conditions.
Bring along navigator-with-GPS John and can’t-stay-on-a-trail Jim and six
other willing spirits to be guaranteed a fun, off-trail adventure to the top
where we were rewarded with stunning views of two of the Sisters, Washington,
Three Fingered Jack and many other smaller mountains and buttes.
Throw in a cozy, fully enclosed shelter with real windows, a leisurely lunch stop,
then a quick jaunt to the cars, and it all adds up to a TERRIFIC, FUN trip.
Thanks to all the great participants, Non-member Iwo Lojasiewicz
and members John Agnew, Ann-Marie Askew, Bob Huntley, Joe Neal, Jim Whitfield,
Mel Zavodsky and Effie Neth (leader/sweep).
