Ray Benson AreaFebruary 23, 2003Five skiers in two vehicles left SEHS at 8 a.m. We started our ski from the Ray Benson SnoPark at about 10 a.m. under an overcast sky and strong winds. We skied east on the North Loop trail to North Blowout shelter, where we stopped for our first rest. The conditions were about 2" of new powder on top of a hard crust. After the break we went south on the Two Buttes Cutoff trail and then on the South Loop trail to our next rest stop at the Brandenburg shelter. Then we continued north on the South Loop trail back to the SnoPark. The skiers, all members, were: Craig Weinerman, Laurie Funkhouser, Doug McCarty, John Hegg, and the leader was George Baitinger. |
