Row River Trail

Row River Trail, located off Mosby Creek Road in Cottage Grove, is paved and tame, but it certainly doesn’t lack appeal. Besides Mosby Creek Covered Bridge, Dorena Lake and Row Point with its native plants, is the 150-foot-high Dorena Dam. We were surprised that the dam’s earthfill structure and concrete spillway were completely visible due to low water levels. On this particular Thursday, we enjoyed especially gentle winter weather and lunch at dry picnic tables. We walked as far as Rat Creek Road—about 4.5 miles—before heading back to Mosby Creek Trailhead. Yayoe Kuramitsu, Pete Peterson, Chuck Wagner, Janet Jacobsen, Carol Busseau, Neil Cawood, Max Brown, Ginny Reich, Carolyn and Cork Higgins joined leader Chris Cunningham.
