October 5, 2003
This was Leona Divine’s 200th trip.
It was Pema’s first glimpse of the Oregon coast.
There was no wind and the sun occasionally broke through the clouds.
The Heceta lighthouse and the lighthouse station were open for tours.
We parked at Washburne Park and then hiked on the beach, Hobbit Trail
and the Lighthouse Trail.
Seven people took the Lighthouse tour and all of us took the tour of
the lighthouse keeper’s house.
We were disappointed that we didn’t see the ghost.
On the way back, we were able to show Pema some tidepool creatures.
It was a pleasant day and great company.
We wished that we had brought some sparkling apple cider to celebrate
Leona’s 200th trip.
