Fourteen hikers left Eugene under cloud, overcast skies
and returned to cloudy, overcast skies and a weatherman’s
lament of a dreary, 69° day.
He should have been with us!
75° bright sunshine greeted us at Clear Lake.
The water sparkled like diamonds.
Bright red, orange and yellow vine maple shined translucent against black lava.
Small white clouds streaked the bright blue sky.
Silver snags guarded the trail like ancient totems.
It was glorious.
