September 28, 2003
The day was warmer than it should have been for late September,
but that didn’t stop the nine enthusiastic hikers that
traveled up the old McKenzie Hwy.
We hiked to our lunch stop on the cinder barrens, looking up at
the North and Middle Sisters in just two hours.
This gave us plenty of time for our lunch repast and enjoying
the view from the top of Four-in-One Cone.
The noisier, younger contingent, plus one, led the quieter, more
meditative group back to the trailhead, with only a couple of
tumbles to show for our plus eight mile trek.
Anne van den Nanweland,
and Clare Tucker.
