Moraine Lake Loop

September 14, 2003

Our group of hikers started out on a bright morning to do the seven mile Moraine Lake loop. Beautiful weather and clear blue skies greeted us at the trailhead after a two hour drive. The walk through the forest to the end of the tree zone was pleasant and we lunched at the lake. The final 1.3 miles of the loop was closed for erosion protection and so we circled the lake, enjoyed the views of Broken Top, South Sister and Mt. Bachelor and returned through the forest primeval to our cars. Doug McCarty led this injury free hike. Other hikers were: Jim Duncan, Darcy Ellingsen, Karen Frost, Joanne Ledet, and Richard Sundt.
