Five well-matched hikers drove up Dead Horse grade to
Obsidian Trailhead this past Labor Day.
A trail well-known to most Obsidians was dusty but clear
all the way save for outbound Middle Sister climbers,
three USFS workers, and two well-mannered Icelandic horses.
Most of the catch basins were dry, but all streams were
wet and moving.
Big-time views were hazed by B&B smoke on an otherwise
clear, warm day.
