Fern Ridge Bicycle Path — Urban Bicycle Ride
June 28, 2003
The trip began behind the Lane County Fairgrounds where this bicycle path begins.
Some arrived by car and others rode to the start on their bicycles.
A total of ten Obsidians began the ride shortly after nine a.m.
It was a warm summer morning, just right for a leisurely ride along Amazon creek.
One Blue Heron was seen in the creek and some lovely purple flowers we did not
identify were covering the wetland puddles along the way.
Lunch or a snack and a chat were enjoyed at the picnic tables at the Greenhill road
end of the path.
The group returned to the Fairgrounds by the same route which totaled 16 miles of cycling.
Riders included Jim and Sharon Duncan, Kathy and Stewart Hoeg, Bill and Margaret Prentice,
Kathy Riddle, Sharon Ritchie, Jeanne Schmidt and leader Norma Lockyear.
