Willamette Valley Loop Bicycle RideMay 10, 2003A group of seven bicyclists gathered at the Brownsville exit of I-5 and began a 45 mile trip on the flat farm roads of the Valley. This was the day of the dedication of the Peoria road portion of the Finley Wildlife Refuge so we stopped for a look before going on to Peoria Park for lunch. Heading north we crisscrossed the valley and went through Tangent, crossed I-5 and back to have a look at the Old Boston Flour Mill near Shedd. The valley was green, the temperature mild, the conversation great, and we had a bit of tail wind to take us back to our cars by 3:30. Riders included non-members Joyce Sanders, Lyn Gilman-Garrick, and Chris Mullaney. Obsidians riding were Gayle Berge, Denny Schmidt, Ken Kodama and leader Norma Lockyear. |
