Cummins Creek & Cooks Ridge

The day before the trip, it poured at the coast. Co-leaders Mary Holbert (Newport resident who experienced it first hand) and Lana Lindstrom agreed that if it didn’t clear a bit, they would cancel the trip. The next day started out cloudy, but ended on a clear note with several participants hiking in T-shirts. Mary led us on a series of trails through stands of old growth trees and trilliums up to a ridge where we sunned like lizards on rocks, munching on lunches while discussing gourmet food. Enjoying the great weather and camaraderie were Charles Durham, Richard Hughes, Nola Nelson, Carol Petty, Jan True and co-leaders Mary Holbert & Lana Lindstrom.
