Westview Shelter/Odell Overlook
December 21, 2002
We finally got enough snow, 12–14", to have our hike.
Most people must have thought conditions were poor, we saw few
snowshoers & skiers.
Snow fell most of the time, visibility was minimal.
There is a lot of firewood in the Westview shelter, hopefully it
will last the winter.
Hot chocolate is available at the Gold Lake nordic ranger station.
The little off trail hiking we did added interest to the trip.
The outing was quiet.
The fresh snow did not allow sound to travel far.
Snowshoers were Elliot Aronin, Ann-Marie Askew, Barbara Bruns,
Daniele Delaby, Jim and Sharon Duncan, Bob Harrison, Yuan Hopkins,
Michelle Tambellini, Sheila Ward and J. Scott Hovis, leader.
