Fall Creek Trail
December 14, 2002
The lack of snow led to a switch to a winter hike along Fall Creek.
We convened at the lodge to enjoy breakfast treats and win prizes.
We then drove to the Amazon Center to park cars and used two vehicles to drive to
the beginning of the trail at the Dolly Varden Campground.
The first part of the hike was dry but a steady rain began to fall about three
miles up the trail.
We decided to shorten the trip a bit and lunched at a campground before retracing
our path—an estimated seven mile hike.
The creek and scenery were most enjoyable as was the company and the rain was
only a minor nuisance.
Enjoying the day were nonmembers Jeanne and Jim Giraudier, Rob Castleberry,
and members, Sharon Ritchie, Max Brown, Sheila Ward, Gayle Berge,
and Ed Lichtenstein[leader].
