Willamette Pass Ski Day

January 16, 2002

Nine Obsidians met at Amazon pool, piled into two vehicles and drove to Willamette Pass. There was only one cross-country skier [John] who enjoyed himself on several trails. The rest of us went downhilling and experienced a fine day. While there was little fresh snow, the runs were well groomed and afforded many options. The day turned clear and sunny &mdash until mid-afternoon &mdash and we had great views of the cascades to the east, Diamond Peak just to the south of us, and Odell, Waldo and Crescent {I think} lakes. We all met for lunch in the Lodge and during the day skied together in various combinations. Enjoying the views and the skiing were Jim & Melody Clarkson, Peter & Kitson Graham, John Hudson, Norma Lockyear, Royal Murdock, Marriner Orum, and leader, Ed Lichtenstein.
