Lower McKenzie River Trail
October 16, 2002
It was a glorious autumn day as ten of us set off along the
McKenzie River Trail across from the Ranger Station.
Along the riverbanks vine maples showed off their fall colors and
the whitewaters of the river sparkled under a clear blue sky.
Our destination was Lost Creek where we ate a leisurely lunch and
which we reluctantly left to retrace our steps.
We stopped occasionally to admire the colors, stand by the river
to see the variety of grasses etc. growing by the rocks at the
river’s edge or to just visit with each other.
Comprising this companionable group were Priscilla Aronin,
Wendy Clarke, Marshall Kandell, Bill Prentice, Nola Shurtleff,
DeeDee and John Stevens, Rich Stevenson, Marilyn Waff
and Margaret Prentice, leader.
