The hike up Mary’s Peak continues to be an interesting
excursion through various vegetative and climate zones.
The Peak exhibits alpine wildflowers, noble firs and views of the surf,
valleys and high Cascade mountains.
Of course these views are nonexistent when clouds hover on the peak.
Then it is strong winds, blowing flog and possibly rain.
We were fortunate and did not have the rain even though early morning
rains occurred in the valley.
Switchbacks, mild temps and a very congenial group made for a pleasant
Saturday workout — after we dropped off the top of the mountain.
Hikers were Ann-Marie Askew, Jan Jacobsen, Scott Matthews, Alex McChisum,
Kristin Peterson, Ruth Romoser, Bill Simington, Ron Wood,
and Sylvia Harvey, leader.
