Lowder Mountain

September 8, 2002

Ten enthusiastic hikers left Eugene at 8:30 for a great hike. Thanks to Anne and Dan we all fit in two cars. The weather was cool and crisp — perfect for uphill hiking. The views ere extraordinary of Diamond Peak, Jefferson, Three Fingered Jack, Washington, Broken Top, Three Sisters and even Mt. Hood. The brush was very dry although there were several wildflowers still in bloom. This was Ray’s one of many hikes up Lowder Mountain that Ray has been making since 1958. It was a great day with great people. We were home by 5. Hikers were: Dan Bates, Gayle Berge, Anne Bonine, Charles Cross, Marshall Kandell, Ray Mikesell, Anita Russell, Velma Shirk, Rod Wood, and Diane Jeffcott (leader).
