The third Obsidian trip of the summer to Substitute Point was a success!
Four of us met at the Park and Ride at
29th and Amazon Parkway (a convenient place when SEHS is in session) at 9:30.
This was for those or us who are not early birds!
After a thankfully uneventful ride to the Foley Ridge trailhead, we were on
the trail by 11:30.
Two and ½ hours later, we were enjoying clear views of the Cascades as
far as Jefferson, and a calm, bugless lunch.
Two hours later, we checked our tires for flats and arrived back in Eugene by 6:30 p.m.
Sharing a great day were Obsidian members Janet Jacobsen, Wayne Deeter, Joe Neal,
and trip leader Peggy Lee Mathes.
