Mary’s Peak

July 21, 2002

On one of the hottest days of the year, we elected to hike 2300' up Mary’s Peak for the wildflowers and the views. The good news is that the trail is in the shade all the way to the top, the bad news: most of the wildflowers were gone and the smoke from the fires in eastern Oregon blocked the views of the mountains. Oh well! My thanks to Max for taking the lead while I waited for Corby, to Sue and Jane for helping with the driving, and the everyone for helping make it such a nice day. Members were: Jane Bartell, Max Brown, Arlene Deyo, Jim Duncan, Fred Felter, Josh Ladau, Richard Lemon, Becky Lipton, Mel Zavodsky. Guests: Sue Dockstader and Corby Stonebraker. Sharon Ritchie – as usual, a sometimes leader.
