Threemile Lake (from south)
July 18, 2002
At the trailhead we found plenty of mosquitos to go around.
In the open dunes and beach it was a lot better.
The hike was only 5 miles but we had a good workout walking in sand, going
through brush in the deflation plain and hopping over & around logs on
the lake shore.
All of the Sitka spruce blown down last February have been cleared from the trail.
It was nice to have the construction finished in Florence where Highway 126
comes into Highway 101.
Hikers were Ann-Marie Askew, Max Brown, Wendy Clarke, Zola Ehlers-Miller,
Steve Helwig, Marshall Kandell, Helmut Plant, Sheila Ward, and J. Scott Hovis (leader).
