July 12-14, 2002
The negatives, mosquitos and hot weather, were far outweighed by the
positives: dramatic mountain scenery, beautiful wild flowers,
enjoyable companions, and a camp site in a wonderful meadow.
We had two nights camping and a leisurely five-mile hake on each day.
Bill and I had the rare experience of seeing a black bear on our drive
back to the highway.
I was fortunate to have Sylvia Harvey, Sharon Ritchie, and my partner,
Bill Bilbrough, as fellow-travelers!
