Mt. Pisgah

June 29, 2002

It was one of those mornings you knew you were in Oregon without opening your eyes. You awoke to a barrage of rain testing the quality of your roof. So it was no surprise when even the heartiest hikers called to say they would not be joining the hike. Upon reaching South’s parking lot I discovered one hiker ready to test the weather fates. After a short side trip to procure my trusty hiking companion, Rusty, we drove to Mt. Pisgah. As we approached the parking lot the weather calmed making the hike most pleasant. We hiked to the top but were not rewarded with a view. We proceeded down the East side and, as the poison oak was plentiful, decided to retrace our steps to remain on the wide path for the return. Tales of travel and the lack of rain made for a most enjoyable day. Joining me on the hike was Marshal Kandell.
