Oregon Coast - Shore Acres/Cape Arago/Charleston EstuaryJune 1-2, 2002Three of us, Ruth Romoser, Bonnie Manheim and Joy Gall, called ourselves the “Outrageous Obsidians” as we hiked down the Charleston estuary, then strolled thru the gardens of Shore Acres and looked for sea lions at Cape Arago. We stayed overnight at Motel 6 in Coos Bay and, after a great dinner at the Mill Casino, we had a great evening hike/stroll through Coos Bay’s Mingus Park. The park has a wonderful Japanese garden. Sunday, instead of a waterfall hike, we had a good seven mile hike down the Bandon beach and we came back to the car via Beach Loop Road. This was a great outdoor coast trip. |
