Shotgun CreekMay 4, 2002A bright, sunny Saturday morning welcomed our group to Shotgun Creek. We hiked along the lower end of the creek, then climbed in elevation to Drury Ridge (1,175 elevation.) We encountered common forest wildflowers, many downed trees and branches, and a BLM recent (1 yr.) clearcut. After picnic we hiked the upper end of Shotgun Creek which provided vignettes of lush creekside flora. Spotted a mountain lion pawprint and enjoyed a generally quite Lane County sanctuary. Hikers were Max Brown, Jerry Brindle, Dan Christensen, Rachele Fiszmann, Joy Gall, Kathy & Stewart Hoeg, Richard Hughes, Joanne Whitfield and leaders Kitson & Peter Graham. |
