Mt. PisgahMay 1, 2002On a mild light overcast Mayday, seven of us hiked Mt. Pisgah from east to west. We were on less traveled trails, and encountered only a few hikers except on the summit. Flowers and poison oak were abundant! Our group identified about 25 wildflowers, including shooting stars, hound’s-tongue, prairie stars, and baby blue eyes. Camas formed a blue carpet in places, and poison oak a red carpet in other places. Present were non-members Richard Hughes and Vincenza Scarpaci, along with members Mavis Mate, Peter Rodda, Ruth Romoser, Nola Shurtleff, and leader Jon Tressler. |
