Finley Wildlife RefugeApril 14, 2002Despite a gloomy forecast the weather turned out to be cool and sunny. We stopped at McFadden Marsh to look at ducks, then on to the overlook were a thousand or so Cackler Geese were still hanging around. We hiked the Woodpecker Loop and stopped for lunch at the large deck around a beautiful oak tree. Then we did the Mill Pond Loop where early spring flowers were blooming in the lush under story. We saw a Bald Eagle, Osprey, Wood Duck, & blue heron. It was a congenial group and a very pleasant day for Donald Burton, Kent Cristoferson, Sharon Duncan, Kathy & Stewart Hoeg, Beth & Ken Kodama, Margaret & Bill Prentice, Barbara Schomaker, Sheila Ward, and Rick Ahrens (leader). |
