Larison CreekMarch 30, 2002Bright sunshine and balmy weather rewarded nineteen eager hikers turning out for this early spring hike. The trail mostly meandered by Larison Creek through forest and a mossy wonderland. Max Brown set the pace for the 5.2 miles to the creek fork where we enjoyed a leisurely lunch then returned the same way. Sabine spotted trillium, colts foot, violets, blue-eyed Marys, snow queens, Oregon grape and more. This was a totally pleasant hike and a fun group. Hikers included six non-members – Margie Cooney, Carol Ipsen, Brian Kerins, Becky Lipton, Jessie Oliver, Russ Roberts; and thirteen members – Ann-Marie Askew, Max Brown, Dan Christensen, Sabine Dutoit, Marilyn Kerins, Don Ladigin, Anne McLucas, Joe Neal, Sig Otto, Sharon Ritchie, Jan True, Heiner Wagener and Effie Neth, leader/sweep. |
