Green River Valley

On the way to a hike to Green River Lakes, Allan Coons’ group took a wrong turn on Moose Creek Trail Road. This is the song that Dot Leland and BreeAnna Fallini sang at the camp fire.

We are hiking the Green River Valley.
We turned right into Moose Creek Trail
And were lost on a dusty rutted road
until we came to where the Green River flowed.
At last we ha found the trail head.
Exhausted, we tumbled from the van
and on to the Highland Trail we staggered
enjoying the vista so grand.
Come sit in the Green River Valley
Do not hasten along the many trails,
but remember to read your directions
to enjoy this Green River vale.
