Middle Sister
August 17-18, 2002
We met at South Eugene High School at 8 am on Saturday August 17th under clear sunny skies and warm weather. Hit the Obsidian trailhead at 11 am and reached our campsite at Arrowhead Lake by 3 pm. Again this year there was very little snow on the northwest side of Middle Sister. We left Arrowhead Lake at 5:15 am Sunday morning under clear skies and no wind. We ascended via Renfrew Glacier and the north ridge reaching the summit by 9 am. A strong group of nine climbers summited including Kim Sawyer, Ken Horton, Wayne Deeter, Jason Mueller, Greg Zupansic, Virgil Lamb, John Hegg, Julie McGlinsky, and Dick Snyder, leader.
