China Creek Trail

We all took a pleasant hike in the deep woods along China Creek, despite the overcast weather. We observed repair work being done on Heceta Head lighthouse as we started our hike. A new lens is being installed. Many flowers and bushes were already in bloom along the trail. Our lunch stop was in Washburne Campground at a nice picnic table. We then walked down to the ocean for a quick look, but were deterred by chilly winds. Hikers were Jerry Brindle, Helen Liguori, Barbara Sutherland and Susan Baker, leader.
