Gold Lake & BogFebruary 3, 2001One vehicle with four skiers left the SEHS at 8 a.m. By the time we reached the Gold Lake SnoPark at around 10 light snow was falling. By the time we had skated down the road to Gold Lake it had begun to rain. All the skiers were strong and the two miles of road to the lake and shelter were covered in far less than an hour. By this time it was raining wet and hard. After a rest at the shelter we crossed the bridge and continued around the far side of the lake to the Bog. Midway around the far side of the lake two of the group decided that it had become too wet and returned to the shelter to dry out. After a short ski on to the Bog the rest of the group returned to the shelter. After a rest there we all made a fast and wet ski back to the car. The skiers were: Non-member Greg Weonison and Obsidians Jan Wright, Charlie Van Deuson and leader George Baitinger. |
