Tam McArthur Rim
September 14, 2001
This Friday trip was posted (re-scheduled) only ten days in advance, but
eight members turned up and drove to the trailhead in two cars.
A clear and warm — but not hot — day.
We stayed together up to the rim and lunched, enjoying the views.
After lunch we headed west.
A sub-group moved ahead, but all made it to the “small red cinder cone” and a few made
it to the base of Broken Hand.
This trip afforded great views for moderate effort.
The drive is long, but we were all back in Eugene before 7:00 p.m.
Enjoying the day were Dick Hildreth, Max Brown, Royal Murdock, Jim Fritz, Doug McCarty,
Helen Liguori, Norma Lockyear and leader Ed Lichtenstein.
