Divide Lakes

September 9, 2001

The group of 11 hikers soon shrank to two! By 8:05 a.m. the leader and Bob headed up Hwy. 58 to the S.E. side of Hills Creek reservoir to Vivian Lakes Trailhead. At 9:30 we were parked at 5300 ft. and ready to go up. We reached Divide Lakes at 11:30, had a pleasant lunch and traversed the small lake, taking in reflections of Diamond Peak, Mt. Yoran and un unnamed rock outcrop. After lunch we opted to hike up to the actual divide at 6750 ft. to see the view. We took our time heading down and managed to pick enough huckleberries to make Monday morning worth getting up for! A most pleasant day. Thanks for the company, Bob, and I hope to see some of the other hikers who signed up on another hike soon. We were back at the car at 4:00 p.m. for a hot, sunny drive home. Hikers were Bob Huntley and Sierra Demo (leader).
