Olallie MountainJuly 8, 2001The three vehicles found the trailhead with little difficulty. The pace was moderate in order to enjoy the wild flowers along the trail and the occasional views. The summit was wonderful - a clear day affording views as far as Mt. Hood and, dimly, Mt. Thielsen. A long lunch and then a pleasant return. The day warmed such that the ascent became a good workout. Enjoying the trip were Renata Tilson, Lily Serrano, Nancy Sharrard (who was an excellent sweep), Yuan Hopkins, Barbara Schomaker, Michelle Tambellini, Ellie Maliner, Jim Clarkson, Marc Hansen, Ray Mikesell (spry at 88!) and trip leader Ed Lichtenstein. |
