Gwynn CreekMarch 16, 2001We left Amazon Center at 8 a.m. and arrived at the trailhead at 10. Due to parking lot reconstruction we parked at a pull-off of Hwy. 101. We crossed the highway to pick up the trailhead. We found many yellow violets, some trillium, some early oxallis and flowering quince. The weather, about 45° and overcast, but the rain held off until we were back in Eugene. On the last leg of the hike we enjoyed a very good view of the ocean due to a cutting back of some shrubbery. We want to thank the Prentises for their driving. Hikers were Wendy Clarke, Sheila Ward, Margaret & Bill Prentice, Yuan Hopkins, Max Brown, Jan Wright, Roberta Dubois, Priscilla & Elliot Aronin (trip leader). |
