We left for Willamette Pass 19 strong! The large amount of interest shows how popular
snowshoeing is becoming. It was great to have the bridge repair work this side of
Oakridge finished. The night before the area had a dusting of snow.
However, the snow was not ideal. We all went to the Westview Shelter to adjust
things and then headed out on our loop. The view of Odell Lake was beautiful but
we could only see the base of Diamond Peak. We didn’t see another person the whole trip.
I wanted to mention that this year the small Ranger Station at Gold Lake SnoPark now
sells SnoPark passes. Many thanks to a great group to enjoy the outdoor with:
