Odell Lake

December 10, 2000

We left for Willamette Pass 19 strong! The large amount of interest shows how popular snowshoeing is becoming. It was great to have the bridge repair work this side of Oakridge finished. The night before the area had a dusting of snow. However, the snow was not ideal. We all went to the Westview Shelter to adjust things and then headed out on our loop. The view of Odell Lake was beautiful but we could only see the base of Diamond Peak. We didn’t see another person the whole trip. I wanted to mention that this year the small Ranger Station at Gold Lake SnoPark now sells SnoPark passes. Many thanks to a great group to enjoy the outdoor with: Yuan Hopkins, Sig Otto, Gerold Brindle, Michelle Tambellini, Paul Keller, Grace Swanson, Peter & Kitson Graham, Melvina Bartels, Karen & Rex Prater, Rhonda Turnquist, Steve Knight, Chris Cunningham, Genie Currier, Lillian Meijers, Sandi Corner, Barbara Schomaker and J. Scott Hovis (leader).
