Maxwell Butte

January 30, 2000

This trip made The Register-Guard’s Ticket Section as something one could do if one didn’t want to watch the Super Bowl. It was snowy and windy at the Maxwell Butte SnoPark, making us think we would have a short trip. As soon as we put on our skis and headed through the trees on crusted trails, the snow and wind stopped. The temperature was perfect. This area has an abundance of trails, loop, blue diamonds, and a map at every intersection. New snow would have been welcome on the downhill part of the trip. Everyone agreed that they wanted to come back and ski when the snow conditions were better. We were back home in time to watch the last half of the Super Bowl! Skiers were Mary Ellen Bennett, Lew Bowers, Nancy Harrington, Van Likes, Lana Lindstrom, Royal Murdock, Marriner Orum, Helen Vidal and leaders Jane Hackett & Janet Jacobsen.
