October 21, 2000
It was raining hard at 7:00 p.m. but clear by the time we left SEHS parking lot.
The rain returned at the trailhead but was episodic during the morning.
We were blessed with sun in the afternoon. We parked at F.S. Rd. #1828 and hiked up-stream
to the trail’s end. This piece of the trail is quite lovely and traverses,
at times, high above the creek: crawling over a downed log on a steep pitch added
some adventure. We saw no other hikers on the trail, lunched at the end and then
returned to the cars. This trail has a rain forest look and feel in the Fall.
Enjoying the fine Fall were Max Brown, Mary Ann Esterberg, Maggie Gontrum,
Sheila Ward, Jerry Brindle, Yuko Nakamura and Ed Lichtenstein, leader.
